Sauna lights are sold as their own category: light fittings and shades, low-voltage LED strips, spotlights and fibre-optic kits. We recorded 37 sauna lights and lighting parts at four UK retailers, from £32.99 to more than £2,000, checked on 3 October 2026. They’re listed below with the voltage, IP rating and temperature rating each listing states. For 26 of the 37 we recorded none of the three, so the table shows what you’ll need to ask.

Prices and specifications as shown on each retailer's own website on 3 October 2026; the retailer's checkout price is what counts. Aqualine Saunas and Leisurequip do not say whether their prices include VAT; for the other retailers we recorded the displayed price and didn't check for a VAT statement. “From” marks a starting price where the retailer sells several sizes or options: the shop's own “from” price, or the cheapest size we noted for the item named. The listings for 15 of these items didn't show whether they were in stock. “Not recorded” means we don't hold the figure, usually because the listing didn't state it. “From” is the cheapest listing not marked out of stock. The median is the middle price of all the listings of that type.
These are not the shops’ whole ranges: we skipped colour and timber duplicates, and most of the drivers, cables and controllers sold alongside the lights.
Types of sauna light
- Light fittings and shades (12 listed, from £32.99). Wall and corner fittings, and the shades sold to go over them, two of them wooden. The Raita fittings at Finnmark take an E27 lamp of up to 40 W or 60 W; two of the SAAS fittings have a built-in LED instead.
- LED strips and tubes (12 listed, from £86). Aqualine lists Harvia’s RGBW tube sets as suitable for behind the back rests or the upper bench, and one backrest at Finnmark is made to take a strip.
- Spotlights (5 listed, from £44.99). LEDIFY says its SaunaLED series can even be mounted in the ceiling of the sauna room. Finnmark’s listing for the SAAS Highline Sauna+ spot says it is not suitable above the sauna stove.
- Fibre-optic and starry-sky kits (5 listed, from £179). A light source feeds optical fibres: the SAAS Sauna Basic kit has six ceiling fibres and one for the stove. The three SAAS kits at Finnmark state an operating range of -30°C to +180°C.

Temperature, IP rating and voltage
These are the three figures to look for. Of the 37 listings, we recorded a temperature rating for six, an IP rating for four and a voltage for six. 26 have none of the three in our data. 16 of those are at Aqualine Saunas and Leisurequip, which we read mostly from category pages, so the product page may say more.
- Temperature. The ratings stated run from 100°C to 180°C. The frosted-glass fitting at Finnmark says it withstands ambient temperatures up to 125°C, and Finnmark lists the SAAS Top View LED strips as tolerating -20°C to +100°C.
- IP rating. The listings that state one give IP54, IP55 and IP67. For comparison, HUUM’s OVO sauna light has an LED strip rated IP 44 with a power supply rated IP 42, and SAWO gives IPX4 for its LED set.
- Voltage. The products that state a voltage run on 12 V and 24 V. Check whether the driver is included: Finnmark sells the drivers for several of the SAAS lights separately. HUUM says the power supply for its OVO light should be installed outside the sauna room.
If a listing doesn’t give these figures, ask the retailer before you buy. The Tylö and Tuin prices marked “From” are the shops’ own starting prices, and we didn’t read their options. The temperatures makers recommend for the room are on sauna temperature.

Where sauna lights go
What the makers and listings we’ve read say, each about its own product:
- Above the heater: check the listing. Finnmark’s listing for the SAAS Highline Sauna+ spot says it is not suitable above the sauna stove.
- On the wall. Tylö’s US guide for its Sense Sport heater says that if a room light is fitted it should be a surface-mounted bracket type, with wall lights about 70 inches (1.78 m) above the floor.
- Under the bench and behind the backrests. Aqualine lists Harvia’s tube sets as suitable for behind the back rests or the upper bench, and sells a Harvia lamp shade for under the bench.
- In the ceiling, where the maker says so: LEDIFY says its SaunaLED series can be ceiling-mounted, and Finnmark’s listing for the SAAS Highline Sauna ID gives ceiling installation 150 mm off the wall.
- Power supply outside. HUUM says the power supply for its OVO light goes outside the sauna room, on a cable no longer than 20 metres.

Wiring a sauna light
Plan the wiring before the walls are lined. Harvia advises working out the wiring for the lights, heater and control unit before panelling, and deciding whether the cables go under or on the panelling boards. HUUM says only a certified electrician may connect its OVO sauna light.
In England, a room containing a sauna heater is a special location under Part P of the building regulations, and adding to or altering a circuit in a special location is notifiable work. The wiring regulations, BS 7671, have their own section for rooms and cabins containing sauna heaters. Use a registered electrician. Sauna lighting ideas, with prices
Four ways to light a sauna, with what we list for each:
- A glow under the bench. Aqualine sells a Harvia lamp shade for under the bench at £60, and LED strips start at £86.
- A lit backrest. Harvia’s RGBW tube sets at Aqualine are listed as suitable for behind the back rests, from £675. Finnmark sells a Thermory backrest made to take an LED strip.
- A spot on the stones. Finnmark lists LEDIFY’s KiuasLED as a sauna heater spot light, with a narrow 15° beam: £44.99.
- A starry ceiling. Fibre-optic kits: the SAAS Sauna Basic has six ceiling fibres (£482), the SAAS Sauna Sky thirteen fibres (£392, out of stock when we checked) and Harvia’s Luminous at Aqualine 14 fibres (£540). Leisurequip lists Tylö’s Ruben Sky LED starry light kit from £2,211.

Sauna light questions
What kind of light can you use in a sauna?
The lights we list are sold for saunas, but for most of them we didn't record a temperature or IP rating. Where one is stated, the temperature ratings run from 100°C to 180°C. Ask the retailer for both figures before you buy.
Can you put LED lights in a sauna?
Makers sell LED lights for saunas: we list 16 LED strips, tubes and spots. Finnmark lists the SAAS Top View LED strips as tolerating -20°C to +100°C, and HUUM says the power supply for its OVO light should be installed outside the sauna room.
Where should a sauna light go?
It depends on the light. Tylö's US guide says a room light should be a surface-mounted bracket type, with wall lights about 70 inches above the floor. Finnmark's listing for one SAAS spot says it is not suitable above the sauna stove, and Aqualine lists Harvia's LED tube sets for behind the back rests or the upper bench.
