Privacy

Short version: no tracking cookies of our own, and your email only if you give it to us.

What we collect

  • Nothing, if you just read the site. We don’t set tracking or advertising cookies, and we don’t run third-party analytics scripts. Our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, page requested and time) for security and to keep the site running.
  • A postcode, if you use the smoke control area checker. Your browser sends the postcode you type to postcodes.io, an open postcode lookup service, to find your council. We don’t receive or store it; postcodes.io’s own privacy policy applies to that lookup.
  • Your email address, if you give it to us in the price index form. We use it only to send the quarterly index, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. The form is handled by our host, Netlify.

Links to retailers take you to their site, where their own privacy policy applies. Some of our links are affiliate links through networks such as Awin: when you click one, the network or retailer may set a cookie on their site to record that you came from us, so we can be paid a commission if you buy. We don’t receive your name or address. The network tells us that a sale was made, its value and date, which of our pages the click came from and, for some retailers, what was bought. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@outdoorsauna.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
