6Palmako saunas at other retailers
Palmako makes timber garden buildings, sold in the UK through its own shop and through other retailers. Its UK shop lists 39 saunas in our data: 14 barrels, 12 cube saunas and 13 sauna cabins, from £1,999 to £22,491. Only 2 listings say a heater is in the price. Everything below was checked on 30 September 2026.
Prices include VAT. Each row shows the date we checked it against the retailer's own page; the latest check was 30 September 2026. Prices change: the retailer's checkout price is what counts. Height chips show the retailer's stated height: green 2.5 m or lower, amber taller. That's before your base, and it isn't a planning check (see why 2.5 m matters). “Not recorded” means we could not confirm the figure on the retailer's page.
Two things to know when you read the table:
The size and height columns are mostly blank. That’s a gap in our data, not Palmako’s. We took the range from Palmako’s product feed, which gives the size only in the title, such as “2x1.6m”. Palmako’s product pages list the base dimensions and overall height, so read those before you plan the base or check the planning rules.
Check whether a heater is included. 2 listings are sets with a heater, 14 say the heater is sold separately or optional, and the other 23 don’t say either way.
What’s included, and what isn’t
The two sets with a heater are among the cheapest listings:
Eir (2.6m² | 1.8x1.6m |44mm) Compact Garden Sauna Set - 6kw Heater and Roofing Felt Included: £1,999. Set price includes 6kW heater with stones and roofing felt.
Bundle Deal: Anita 2x1.6m Barrel Sauna + 3.6kW Heater, Stones and Roof Cover Included: £2,190. Bundle price includes 3.6kW heater, stones and roof cover (shingles).
For the rest, budget for a heater and stones, and check the listing for the roof covering: some prices include roof shingles and some list the roof covering as optional. Palmako’s shop also sells heaters and stove sets: 5 listings in our data, from £649 to £2,390, from Harvia, HUUM, Narvi. Compare heater prices across retailers on sauna heaters and work out the full bill with the garden sauna cost calculator.
Timber: untreated or thermowood
23 of the 39 listings are described as untreated, and 12 are thermowood versions at a higher price. Wall thickness is 42 mm or 44 mm on most; a few cabins are listed at 56 mm or 70 mm.
Palmako says untreated wood turns grey and can go blue and mouldy, so the wooden parts must be treated with a wood preservative straight away. Its listing for the Anita barrel describes aspen benches as a smooth, resin-free seating surface and an 8 mm toughened glass door. Inside the hot room, follow the heater maker’s advice: Harvia says lacquer must not be used on a sauna’s interior surfaces, and recommends paraffin oil for the benches.
Palmako says installation starts with a perfectly level and square foundation, and recommends one of four: a screw foundation, a strip or spot (pile) foundation, concrete or paving slabs, or a cast concrete slab. Our guide to installing a garden sauna covers the options and what retailers say they cost.
For assembly, Palmako lists the tools you’ll need: an assembly aid, spirit level, knife, ladder, screwdriver, tape measure, hammer, saw, pliers, drill and protective gloves. Some of its product pages mention an installation service without a price. See sauna kits for what self-assembly involves and what other retailers charge to do it.
Some product descriptions (e.g. Anita, Sanna M) mention an installation service is available, price not stated; many newer products are tagged 'noinstall'.
In short: free mainland UK delivery with crane offloading, a five-year warranty stated on product pages, and an estimated two to four weeks for an untreated sauna on the page we read, with three weeks more for a treated or painted one.
Palmako saunas at Costco and B&Q
6 Palmako saunas are listed by other retailers in our data:
Costco’s two Palmako sets include a heater, and they match the titled size, wall thickness and heater output of the two sets on Palmako’s own shop, at similar prices: see Costco saunas. B&Q’s listings don’t all say whether a heater is in the price. Delivery terms differ between retailers, so compare those as well as the price.

Palmako sauna reviews: what we don’t publish
We don’t publish review scores, and we haven’t tested Palmako’s saunas. What we show is what Palmako’s own UK pages state on 30 September 2026: the price, the timber, what’s in the box and the terms above.
