outdoorsauna.uk tracks the price and specification of every garden sauna we can find for sale in the UK: 489 listings from 23 retailers, plus 74 heater listings and 92 ice baths, each checked against the retailer’s own page. Everything here is free to use with a credit.

Key figures

The median garden sauna on sale in the UK costs £6,295, across 489 listings from 23 retailers.
Half of all UK garden sauna listings are priced between £4,500 and £10,400.
Only 29% of garden sauna listings (141 of 489) include a heater in the price; 237 are priced without one and the rest don't say.
Of the 288 listings that state a height, 86% (247) are 2.5 m or lower, the limit for an outbuilding within 2 m of a boundary under permitted development in England.
At the Ofgem price cap of 26.32p per kWh (1 October to 31 December 2026), one session costs about £1.97 in electricity with a 6 kW heater and £2.96 with a 9 kW heater (45-minute heat-up, 60-minute session, heater on half the time).
The same 6 kW HUUM DROP heater is listed at £488, £999 and £1,590 by 3 UK retailers; part of the gap is whether the controller and stones are included.
Among 92 ice baths and cold plunge tubs from 15 UK retailers, the median with a chiller is £4,496 and without one £499.
We found a clear statement about smoke control areas on the websites of 200 of 361 UK councils: 45 say the whole area is covered, 110 say part of it is, and 45 say they have none.

Story angles the data supports

  • The heater isn’t in the price. Only 29% of garden sauna listings include a heater. Buyers comparing ticket prices are often comparing a complete sauna with an empty one. See what a garden sauna really costs.
  • Same heater, very different price. One 6 kW heater is listed by 3 UK retailers at prices from £488 to £1,590, partly because of what’s in the box. See sauna heaters.
  • The 2.5 metre question. In England, an outbuilding within 2 m of a boundary must be no more than 2.5 m high to be permitted development. 41 of the 288 saunas that state a height are taller than that. See the planning permission checker.

outdoorsauna.uk is an independent UK site that compares garden saunas on price and published specifications. It isn’t owned by any sauna retailer or manufacturer. It’s funded by affiliate links to some retailers, which don’t affect what’s listed or how it’s ranked. We haven’t tested the saunas and we don’t make health claims. Yes, with a credit to outdoorsauna.uk. The data and the charts on this page are published under CC BY 4.0, which allows commercial reuse.

How do you check the data?

Every figure is taken from the retailer's own product page and stamped with the date it was checked. A sample is re-checked independently, and where a retailer doesn't state a figure we leave it blank. The methodology has the detail.

Have you tested the saunas?

No. This is a price and specification comparison built from what retailers publish. We say so on the site, and we don't rank on anything we can't show.

Do retailers pay to be listed?

No. We list every sauna we can find from UK retailers. Some retailer links are affiliate links, which may earn us a commission, but that doesn't decide what's listed or the order it's shown in.
