For Finnmark Sauna we recorded the displayed price and didn't check for a VAT statement. “From” is the shop's own starting price for a listing sold in more than one size. “Dose per litre” is worked out from the amounts the listing gives. “Was” is the seller's own higher price, shown beside the current one. Wording in quotation marks is the seller's own, as we read it; it is not our claim.
The price per 10 ml runs from £0.20 for the big bottles to £8.60 for the 10 ml concentrates, but the doses differ just as much, so compare those too. Where the listing gives the dose in millilitres, a litre of scented water costs 33p with Emendo’s 500 ml bottle and 75p to £1.50 with Narvi’s 100 ml bottle. What they’re made from. Finnmark’s listing for Emendo’s 500 ml scent says it is “made with 100% pure eucalyptus essential oil and contains no synthetic fragrances”. Aqualine’s listing says Harvia’s sauna fragrances contain essential oils. The Narvi listing calls its scent a scent oil and doesn’t say what it is made from.

Three species appear in these listings:
- Eucalyptus globulus: both Tisserand oils and one at Neal’s Yard Remedies, from Spain or China as stated. Nikura’s safety data sheet gives the same species for its Eucalyptus (Chinese) oil.
- Eucalyptus radiata: Neal’s Yard Remedies, from South Africa.
- Eucalyptus citriodora (lemon eucalyptus): Nikura, whose listing mentions its “strong citrus notes”.
None of these product pages mentions sauna use. Tisserand’s eucalyptus guide says eucalyptus should be used in moderation and never neat on the skin. All the oils we recorded, with every other scent, are on essential oils for a sauna.

Eucalyptus oil on sauna stones
No. HUUM’s DROP heater manual says to use sauna fragrances and oils only in the steam water, and that poured undiluted onto the stones they can catch fire. Tylö’s US Sense Sport manual warns that fragrant essences may ignite if poured directly onto the stones. Harvia’s Cilindro Pro manual says only aromas designed for sauna water may be used.
Eucalyptus oil carries fire warnings. Nikura’s safety data sheet for its Eucalyptus (Chinese) oil gives a flash point of 45.5 °C, classes it as “Flammable liquid and vapour” and says to keep it away from heat, sparks, open flames and hot surfaces. Both Tisserand eucalyptus listings carried a flammable warning in the text we read.

Can you use eucalyptus oil in a sauna?
The heater manuals we've read that mention scent put it in the water. HUUM's DROP manual says to use sauna fragrances and oils only in the steam water, and Harvia's Cilindro Pro manual says only aromas designed for sauna water may be used. We list 8 eucalyptus scents sold for sauna water.
How much eucalyptus do you put in sauna water?
It depends on the product. Finnmark's listing for Narvi's eucalyptus scent says 5 to 10 ml in a litre of water; its listing for Emendo's 500 ml bottle says 50 ml in around 3 litres; and its listing for Emendo's 10 ml concentrate says three to six drops in a ladle of water.
