Costco saunas: every outdoor model and price

We found 6 outdoor saunas on Costco UK’s website, from three brands: 3 Vidalux barrels, 2 Palmako sets and an installed Insignia hybrid barrel. All 6 include a heater, and 5 of them cost less than £2,500, which puts them among the cheapest saunas with a heater in our data. We read the prices and specs from Costco’s own product data on 30 September 2026. Costco is a membership retailer, so check on its site what you need to order online.

Every Costco outdoor sauna

Prices include VAT. Each row shows the date we checked it against the retailer's own page; the latest check was 30 September 2026. Prices change: the retailer's checkout price is what counts. Height chips show the retailer's stated height: green 2.5 m or lower, amber taller. That's before your base, and it isn't a planning check (see why 2.5 m matters). “Not recorded” means we could not confirm the figure on the retailer's page.

Costco barrel saunas: the Vidalux range

Costco’s Vidalux barrel comes in three lengths, all 2.0 m wide and 2.0 m high as Costco states them, in spruce with a tempered glass door:

Vidalux sells barrels of the same lengths, seat counts and heater outputs on its own site, at the prices in the last column. We can’t confirm from the listings that every detail of the two versions is identical, so check the roof, accessories and warranty on each page before you choose. See Vidalux for its full range.

Costco says these need hardwiring, so budget for an electrician. Our electrical supply calculator shows what a 4.5 kW or 6 kW heater draws.

Costco’s Palmako saunas

• Palmako Compact Garden Sauna Set (£1,999.99): 6 kW electric heater and stones included; underlay roofing felt and aspen benches included. Nordic spruce, 44mm wall logs; aspen benches. Costco gives its size as 1.6 m × 1.8 m and 2.25 m high.
• Palmako Barrel Sauna Set (£2,149.99): 3.6 kW electric heater and stones included; roof shingles and aspen benches included; stands on treated laminated timber frame. Untreated Nordic spruce, 42mm; aspen benches. Costco gives its size as 1.6 m × 2.0 m and 2.05 m high.

Palmako’s own UK shop lists sets whose titles give the same size, with the same wall thickness and heater output: a barrel bundle with a 3.6 kW heater, stones and roof cover at £2,190, and a compact sauna set with a 6 kW heater and roofing felt at £1,999. Costco describes the barrel’s spruce as untreated, and Palmako says untreated wood must be treated with a wood preservative straight away. See Palmako for the rest of its range.

Costco 2 person saunas

Two of Costco’s listings are sold for two or three people: the smallest Vidalux barrel at £1,999.99, 1.2 m long, and the installed Insignia hybrid at £6,999.99. Costco lists the Palmako barrel set for three people and gives no seat count for the compact set. For every two-seater we list, see small garden saunas.

Costco infrared saunas

The only outdoor Costco sauna with infrared heating in our data is the Installed Insignia Luxury 2-3 Person Hybrid Barrel Sauna at £6,999.99. It’s a hybrid: Costco lists a 4.5 kW Harvia heater plus six far-infrared heaters (the listing also shows a 2,200 W power rating), and the price includes professional installation. Costco says its returns policy doesn’t apply to installed merchandise. For indoors, Costco lists the Insignia 1 Person Far Infrared Indoor Sauna at £1,599.99, a 1,715 W cabin 0.90 m by 0.90 m; it’s one of the indoor cabins we compare in home sauna: indoor or garden?. We track outdoor saunas, so other indoor cabins at Costco may not be in our data. For outdoor infrared saunas from other retailers, see outdoor infrared saunas.

The delivery terms matter more than usual here. For the Vidalux barrels Costco describes a strictly boundary delivery: the driver moves a crate, given as 210 × 110 × 85 cm and up to 400 kg, by pallet truck on level hard standing only, and you unpack it and carry the parts to the garden. The Palmako sets come by carrier with up to three delivery attempts. Only the Insignia includes installation: see sauna kits for what self-assembly involves.

On warranty, Costco lists two years on the Vidalux barrels and, on the Insignia, two years on the electrics and one on the wood. We didn’t find a warranty stated on its two Palmako listings.

Will a Costco sauna need planning permission?

All 6 Costco saunas are 2.25 m high or lower as listed, under the 2.5 m limit that applies within 2 m of a boundary in England and Wales. The limit includes the base, so a raised base could change that for the taller ones. Check the rest of the rules for your garden with the planning permission checker.
