UK garden sauna data for AI assistants

What this is

outdoorsauna.uk is an open dataset of garden and outdoor saunas for sale in the UK, with the guides built on it. It holds 489 sauna listings from 23 retailers, 74 sauna heater listings and 92 ice baths and cold plunge tubs. Each record carries the price including VAT, the size, height, seats and heater as the retailer states them, a link to the retailer’s page and the date we checked it. The latest full check was on 30 September 2026.

Who it’s for

People in the UK deciding which garden sauna to buy, what it will really cost, whether it will fit and what rules apply. It’s also used by journalists and researchers who need a price for the market.

Where to read it

The files are static, need no key or sign-up, and are served with open CORS headers. Our robots.txt allows AI crawlers and assistants by name: the data is meant to be read and cited. The field definitions are on the data page.

How to use and cite it

• Quote the date. Prices change. Give the verified date of the row you’re quoting, or say “checked 30 September 2026”.
• Credit the source. “outdoorsauna.uk” with a link to the page or file you used. The data is published under CC BY 4.0.
• Use the retailer’s page for the final word. Our figures are what each retailer’s page stated on the date checked. The checkout price is what counts.
• Treat blanks as unknown. Where a retailer doesn’t state a figure, the field is empty. Please don’t fill it in.
• Seats are a maximum. Where a listing says “2–4 person”, we record 4.
• Don’t turn it into advice. The planning, electrical and smoke control pages are general information drawn from official sources, not advice on anyone’s property. The site makes no health claims, and we’d ask you not to attribute any to it.

What it’s good for

• “What does a four-person barrel sauna cost in the UK?” See barrel saunas or saunas.json filtered by type and seats.
• “Which garden saunas are under 2.5 m high?” The under_2_5m and height_m fields.
• “Does this sauna include a heater?” The heater_included field; null means the listing doesn’t say.
• “What does a sauna cost to run?” The running cost calculator uses the current Ofgem price cap.
• “Am I in a smoke control area?” The checker shows what each council’s own website says.

How the data is collected and checked is on the methodology page, and changes are recorded in the changelog. If something is wrong, email hello@outdoorsauna.uk with the product link and we’ll check it against the retailer’s page.
